押尾光太郎的作品被广泛地用在影视背景音乐中。影片《小岛之恋》中作为电影主题音乐。
赢得ADLIB杂志评选的2002年国内最佳新人艺人奖。
获得2002年大阪市艺术文化节的嘉奖。
押尾先是跟中川砂仁学吉他，后来20多岁时，在东京跟冈崎伦典学了约三年，其实他自己有说，除了受这两位影响外，他还受到另外一位日本吉他大师小松原俊影响很深。
此外像Tuck Andress、Michael Hedges、Alex De Grassi都是影响他很深的国外吉他手，我们也的确可以在他的弹奏中看到他融合了他们的手法。
