　　《Sparks Fly》是专辑《Speak Now》里创作最早的一首歌，也是唯一一首不在发行《Fearless》后的这两年时间里完成创作的新作品。《Sparks Fly》是泰勒16岁创作的(早于2006年发行《泰勒·斯威夫特》)，她曾在一些酒吧演出中，面向四五十人的观众演唱过这首歌曲，当时主要用班卓琴和小提琴演奏，歌词也与现在的版本略有不同。

　　2007年5月30日，她在加州奥维尔市的Gold Country Casino表演了《Sparks Fly》，有歌迷将这段表演录了下来，并上传至视频网站YouTube，这首歌随即在歌迷中大受欢迎。2010年7月20日，Taylor在对新专辑介绍的Live Chat上证实《Sparks Fly》会收录进《Speak Now》。
